Two specialties that work together

Internal Medicine is the specialty of adults with several things at once: high blood pressure, diabetes, kidneys, thyroid, obesity. Cardiology is the subspecialty of the heart and the blood vessels.

It matters that they go together because the heart rarely fails on its own. Heart failure that does not improve often has anaemia, an underactive thyroid or a kidney that no longer filters the same behind it, and treating only the heart is treating half the problem.

Verifying the credentials

The professional licence numbers shown above are public and can be checked in the Registro Nacional de Profesionistas of Mexico’s Ministry of Education. Board certification is verified with the Mexican Board of Cardiology itself.
